Moneytree achieves ISO certification

September 24, 2020

Moneytree, a leading provider of open banking and data management services to financial enterprises, has been accredited with the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certificate ISO/IEC 27001 for both its Moneytree app and data aggregation platform Moneytree Link in Australia and Japan.

The certificate provides requirements for Information Security Management System (ISMS) and is accepted as the information security global standard, managed by ISO.

Using ISMS enables organisations of any kind to manage the security of assets such as financial information, employee details or information trusted by third parties.

Accredited parties must demonstrate the required practices to receive their certification. These include implementing, maintaining, monitoring and improving of ISMS with proper risk assessment and controls of each entity’s characteristics.

Mr Ross Sharrott, Chief Technology Officer, and Executive Director, Australia,Moneytree said: “Being internationally accredited and recognised is a great success for the business.  At Moneytree we take information security seriously and we are committed to meeting the highest industry standards of confidentiality, integrity and availability.”

Mr Akihiro Umegai, Chief Information Security Officer at Moneytree, said: “This is a great achievement – being certified means Moneytree has the capability to continuously improve our security systems through ISMS and adapt to modern technology changes enhancing our practical security management.”

Moneytree has been a leader in the early development of open banking in Japan and Australia.  In June, Moneytree successfully switched 1.7m consumers in Japan from screen-scraping to APIs on behalf of 60+ data recipients.
